How to store fertilizers?

Dry environment: Fertilizers should be stored in a dry place and avoid moisture. Moisture can cause fertilizers to clump, mold or decompose, affecting their fertilizer effectiveness.

Good ventilation: The place where fertilizers are stored should be well ventilated to prevent gas accumulation, especially for organic fertilizers, good ventilation can prevent the accumulation of harmful gases such as ammonia.

Suitable temperature: Fertilizers should be stored at a suitable temperature and avoid high or low temperature environments. High temperatures can cause fertilizers to decompose or release harmful gases, while low temperatures may cause liquid fertilizers to freeze.

Avoid mixing: Different types of fertilizers should not be mixed together, especially chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers or alkaline substances such as lime, because they may react chemically and reduce the effectiveness of the fertilizers.

Fire prevention measures: Some fertilizers (such as ammonium nitrate) are flammable and explosive substances and should be kept away from fire and high temperatures, and appropriate fire prevention measures should be taken.

Sealed storage: Unused fertilizers should be stored in a sealed manner to prevent moisture absorption, contamination or oxidation. Fertilizers should be used up as soon as possible after opening, especially liquid fertilizers and organic fertilizers.

Clear labeling: When storing fertilizers, the name, ingredients, production date and expiration date of the fertilizer should be clearly marked on the packaging for easy management and use.

Prevent pollution: Fertilizers should be stored separately from other chemicals, seeds or pesticides to avoid mutual contamination. In addition, the storage location should be away from water sources to prevent the fertilizer from dissolving and polluting the environment.

Prevent pests: Organic fertilizers are easy to attract pests, so pest prevention measures should be taken during storage, such as regular inspections and keeping the environment clean.
